Deck plans available online for Cunard Line’s flagship, Queen Mary 2, show that the vessel will undergo some dramatic changes in 2027, adding staterooms and suites and removing some public venues.
The 2027 deck plans for the massive transatlantic liner show the addition of 16 new Princess Grill suites on deck 13, along with five inside cabins, that will take up previously open deck space and eliminate the skylight above deck 12 near the entrance to the Pavilion Pool.
Other areas will see new Category IE inside staterooms added, including on deck 6 aft, where the Play Zone kids club will be reduced by half to make way for the new staterooms.
Perhaps the most controversial change is on deck 8, where the bookshop adjacent to the ship’s massive library will be removed to make way for a brand-new Penthouse suite (number 8000). The onboard bookshop will not be replaced.
Cunard has not, to date, announced this particular refit or any other changes that may be coming. CruiseTimes has requested comment from the line.
